Club Night and Training Times

The Club meets every Thursday at Richmond Pool from between 18:00 hours and 21:00 hours.  The timing and length of training sessions are from 30 minutes up to 2 hrs depending on age and ability.  The appropriate session will be selected after an initial assessment by one of the Club coaching staff.  Thursday is the main weekly Club event and members will be expected to meet on a weekly basis.

For the more committed swimmers there are further 1 or 2 hour training sessions on:

  • Tuesday evenings at Richmond Pool from 19:00 to 20:00 hrs for senior swimmers
  • Wednesday evenings at Catterick Pool from 18:00 to 20:00 hrs
  • Friday evenings at Richmond Pool from 18:00 to 20:00
  • Sunday evenings at Richmond from 16:00 to 18:00hrs

As well as being  competitive, it remains a principle of the Club to provide quality swimming coaching for all its members.  With this in mind we have introduced the ASA National Swimming Programme and Awards Scheme to provide a focus for the efforts of members who may not wish to compete.

Additionally we liaise and maintain close links with the Richmondshire Leisure Trust swimming lessons programme, with the aim of providing further opportunities for children to progress in swimming.  Hopefully the natural progression from Swim Scheme into the Dales Club will occur after the Advanced class, but talented and potential competitive swimmers are encouraged to join after level 6 of the NTP and preferably before they are 9 years old.
